Systems & Information Engineering
Minor in Engineering Business
Class of 2017
I am passionate about solving problems, and the School of Engineering has provided me with many opportunities. I have not merely absorbed knowledge but used it to solve problems on Grounds, across the nation and around the world. It was while sitting in ENGR 1620—Introduction to Engineering—that I first knew I had chosen the right field of study. We were challenged to develop a solution to a problem we saw in everyday life. Our team designed, tested, 3D-printed and gathered feedback on a pill dispenser to be used for daily medication. By the end of the assignment, we had a developed a working prototype to address a real world need. Laboring over our idea together until late in the night and then seeing it come to life reminded me why I chose engineering.
